Feelings are short lived, or are they short lived?

You think they're gone, yet they're back once again.

You would think that things so intangible, just mere ideas, wouldn't affect us, who are so very tangible. But they do. At least for me.

I tell myself they're just emotions. They're just feelings. That they'll go away soon enough. The moment I'm distracted from them, they'll vanish. Just like dreams, they'll soon enough be counted among the forgotten. But they stay.

These emotions. Mere feelings will not hurt me. The things of the intangible cannot affect the realm of the physical. This is partially true. What is not real cannot contact the tangible. But the tangible are not immune to the effects of the ethereal. The ethereal brings in more of their kind. Sadness brings pain. Pain develops to torture.

But the ethereal will always remain intangible. When tomorrow comes it is always today.
